Navy Federal Presents Clarke American “Partnership Award”

VIENNA, VA, April 2, 2004 — This week, Navy Federal Credit Union presented Clarke American’s President/CEO Charles Korbell with the inaugural ‘Navy Federal Flagship Partner Award’. The credit union’s partnership with Clarke American began in 1977 with Navy Federal’s “Sharechek” pilot program.

“Navy Federal is proud of this strong relationship, we refer to Clarke American as one of our most valued partners,” said Brian McDonnell, Navy Federal President/CEO. “It is an honor to present Clarke American with Navy Federal’s first Partnership Award. It’s clear that our partnership will only continue to grow and strengthen in the years to some.”

Today, Clarke American provides Navy Federal check printing and other check-related services. In 2003, Clarke American fulfilled over 623,500 check orders for Navy Federal members. Some of the more notable milestones for nearly three decades include Navy Federal being a pilot user of Clarke American’s Automated Order Entry system and the first partner to send member check order calls to Clarke American’s call center. Navy Federal members are also the highest credit union users of Clarke American’s “@Home” online check ordering system.

“We view this as a long-term relationship characterized by cooperation at every level,” said Charles Korbell. “It is an honor to accept this award on behalf of Clarke American and all our associates. Whenever someone asks about partnerships, I always mention Navy Federal Credit Union.”
